waitin' for saddleback
Our team from the Worship Department departed this morning at 5:30am for the Saddleback Worship Conference in Irvine, CA. We met up with my good friend, Tiph, on the way, and will be meeting former co-worker and friend, Brian, tonight. After arriving at the Orange County John Wayne Airport, we got our rental cars and headed out to find lunch. It was noon here, but 3:00 our time and we were hungry! So we went to the Cheesecake Factory. It was delicious! Now Tiph and I are hanging out in our hotel room waiting to meet up for the conference.

the return of smash volleyball
I had an incredible time playing "Smash Volleyball" with musician friends tonight! We came to a court that had the promise of freshly-tilled, weedless sand. Instead, we found a huge pile of sand on one side of the court with all of the weeds we remembered from two weeks ago still covering a good portion of the court. So Stephanie ran home and picked up shovels and a rake, and Glen, Cody & Guy spread it out.
We played through the rain, sun, rain-and-sun combination, rainbows, the smacking of the forearms from the wet, sandy ball, and smack-talking competition. About two-thirds of the way through the evening, half of our players had deserted, but Rob, Marie, Bonnie, Maureen, Glen and I played some serious 3-on-3 v-ball. By that time, we really didn't care that it was raining because we were soaked and sandy. And then the sun came back out and it was beautiful anyway. It was a blast!
As soon as I get some pictures from the evening, I'll post 'em.

the robin solution
Found out that the reason I've been confused about the robins is that they aren't robins at all! Yesterday my parents, who are here for the weekend, and I were watching the nest and saw the mama bird fly out of it. Not sure exactly what she is, but she's definitely not a robin. So, I think when the robins flew the coop, a new bird took over the nest and had new babies.

the robins are confusing me
Update on my last post ...

Here's yesterday's video:I really thought that my babies had up and left. The nest would be empty for a day or so, then one would sleep there. But they've been building an addition. And yesterday I heard very young tweeting. I took my camera and found that there are three teeny babies in there.
I don't get it ... maybe they had two litters (or whatever they're called for birds)?
The babies as of a few weeks ago
I thought these were the babies
