what a week!

This has been an eventful week.

First, the big news ... in about a month, I will have a new address! That's right, I'm going to be a homeowner. The current owner of the house pictured in my previous post, "to buy or not to buy," accepted my third and final offer. After going back and forth, my final offer was still considerably less than what their previous counter-offer had been. I was all set to walk away and move on, pun intended.

In fact, I almost didn't put up the last offer. But I think that God's hand was in it. I have been seeking His wisdom all summer on this thing, and decided to give it one last shot. And they accepted it! Just think, soon I'll be able to sit on my front porch, and there should be enough nice weather left to enjoy it! And when it gets cold, I can go inside and enjoy my fireplace! I just have one thing to say ... Woo hoo!

This news came to me on Wednesday night. On Thursday, some of my co-workers and another friend came with me to a free lunch at Donatos Pizza that I won. On the way back to work, we were traveling up the highway when we came to a complete stop for an hour and a half! There's much construction on this road, and apparently a dump truck ignored the sign that said, "Caution: Power Lines Overhead." Yeah. So, we played catch with a miniature football and blasted our music while we waited for the electric company to arrive and remove the power lines from the truck. All on a rehearsal night. :) But, it was great fun. I'll post some pictures when I get them.

Saturday morning, I walked 2 miles for Alyssa's Hike for the Hearts. Rather than explaining what that is, you can check it out for yourself, if your curiosity gets the best of you. www.alyssashike.org.

Friday and Saturday, I helped my friends, Kenton and Meredith, prime their new house. We had about 10 people there and got it done in 2 days!

So, that was my eventful week. I'm going to try to get some rest now so I can start another one! I want to close this post by quoting from Ephesians 1:3-6, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. [and right now, I praise Him for His material blessings as well.] For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves."

And these spiritual blessings are incalculably better, but both are from Him and are gracious.
