happy 2008

Here we are. Crazy. It's 2008. I used to dread the new year. Probably because I don't like change very much. I didn't like having to write a different year. I didn't want to be older (yeah, even as a kid). But I think I'm used to 2008. I've been typing it for a few weeks now. We've already planned worship services through the end of January. Of course the new 2008 cars have been out for months. I might also not mind as much because I don't work with little kids anymore. When I did, I realized how old they were getting and how soon they'd be in the next grade. Since I don't see lots of kids on a weekly basis, this doesn't bother me as much. Except Katie who will be 11 next week!

Plus, I'm looking forward to going to Amish country in 3 weeks. It's one of the most relaxing, albeit short, vacations I get to take every year. We (my family & friends) have been doing it for probably 15 years. And it had to be 2008 before we could go again! So welcome, 2008.

I'm sure I'll write 2007 on accident the first time I write a check.
