race #1

I made it a goal this year to run in four races, which is one more than I did last year. I'd also like to do my first bike race if I can.

My friend Erica sent me an email on Tuesday about a 5K race and asked if I wanted to run with her. When was the race? Saturday. You want me to run 3 miles by Saturday?! I've only run outside a couple of times this winter. Mind you, I'm far from a hard-core winter runner. Well, we ran around the church trail 2 1/2 times Wednesday evening—that's 3.1 miles. And we made it!

So today I completed my first race of the season and at almost exactly 10-minute miles. The official time was 31:21:30. For my first race with hardly any prep, I'll take it.

Wow....that is so Awesome! Especially considering the fact that - like you said - hadn't ran much this winter. The best part is having that cool trail right at your place of work. Great fitness goals to have!

Congrats Ms. Emily...at this rate, you'll be ready to run the Cleveland Marathon later in May!
